DATISO fields

New DATISO (IBM field type 'L') fields can now be imported into the Genesis V repository or created as new. These fields are typically 10 characters long in the format CCYY-MM-DD although there are certain variations. GV will treat them like an 8 long numeric date of format CCYYMMDD and show them as 6 long on display formats or reports (in MDY or DMY format) with edit code "Y" and then move an appropriate century into the first 2 characters.

The main use for these types of fields is to access the database using ODBCs from a PC (for example) as a DB/2 date. The downsides of these date types on the AS/400 is still prohibitive. We are continuing to investigate the use of these types.
