Does LegacyWeb get loaded on Windows?
No, all of the LegacyWeb components are loaded directly on your AS/400.

Do our PC’s need additional software?
No, the only thing your PC needs is a Web browser to run your new applications.

Can I use my existing AS/400?
Yes, unlike some products capacity is not an issue. As long as your operating system is Version 4 Release 3 or greater, you’re fine.

Do I have to run this interactively?
No. Unlike some products, LegacyWeb can run in a batch environment.

Is this a 5250 emulation product?
No, this is not an emulation product. We don’t screen scrape or generate a just in time GUI.

Is this a Screen Scraper?
LegacyWeb automatically converts your source code, rewriting it in pure HTML and XML.

How long does it take to learn?
LegacyWeb can be learned in a matter of days depending on your skill level.

Do I have to be an expert in HTML, XML, RPG or COBOL?
No, any code changes you will have to make will be minimal. In most cases we see junior programmers with little experience successfully making any necessary changes.

Do I have to write Java programs to handle my system menus?
No, LegacyWeb automatically generates the appropriate Java scripts that enable you to define menus, calls to CL programs and calls to sub menus. LegacyWeb can take your existing SSA menus and convert them. You also have the ability to generate new web menus within the LegacyWeb administration tools.

Do I have to do any programming?
None, LegacyWeb generates all of the code to run your new Web applications.

Can I view my spool files?
LegacyWeb allows you to access the spool file that corresponds to your user profile. You may then view any records or reports using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Can I print?
Sure, you can print screens from your browser and any records or reports residing in your spool file.

Can we modify the HTML code you automatically generate?
Yes. With LegacyWeb you have the ability to modify the .CSS that defines all of your colors, fonts, text size, subfile colors, background, images, e-mail links, web site links and frames. We make this process simple for the user by displaying a table with all of the values and descriptions listed for you. You can change the look of a single application or your entire package with one easy step. LegacyWeb also enables you to define multiple .CSS in the event that specific customers want to see your applications differently.

Can we have combo boxes, radio buttons, hyperlinks, cascading style sheets, tables, borders, graphics, Java script and visual basic script?
Yes. In addition to editing the HTML source, LegacyWeb automatically generates the aforementioned objects at the time of conversion. Java script and Visual basic script can be added in any way you choose to do so in order to further enhance you web application.

How can we integrate wireless technology?
LegacyWeb now has the ability to automatically generate XML. Using that new XML code on the AS/400 in conjunction with our wireless application partners, you can generate WML for any application you want to take into a wireless environment.

Can we use a green screen environment as well?
Yes. LegacyWeb allows you to run your original code in a green screen environment as you have in the past. You can also run the new HTML source in a green screen environment making version control simple with one copy of the applications.
